BellamyBellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young 19 February 1970)[1She is an American actor, producer, and singer. She is best known for her character Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama show Scandal (2012-2018). She won an award in 2014, the Critics' Choice TV award as the top supporting actress on the drama series. In addition, she starred on the Fox drama series Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young's career in acting began with theatre. Her Broadway debut was in 1997 when she played Mary in The Life. Some of her off-Broadway credits include Stephen Sondheim's Merrily We Rock Along (1994) and in Randy Newman's Faust (1995-1996). 3][10] In 1995 she made her television debut on a recurring character on the NBC daytime soap drama Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. She was a part of two seasons of Law & Order, 1997 and 1998. In 1999 , she made her film debut with a small role in the crime drama Black and White and later was a co-star in a number of independent films. By the middle of 2000, she was able to appear on a number of drama and comedy television shows, such as The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young has appeared in more than thirty television shows between 2000 and 2011.
